Frustrated with Facebook Profile Changes? Here’s some workarounds

If you’re like many facebook users frustrated with the new changes recently implemented to the personal profile page of your facebook account, don’t lose hope because I have good news:

I have discovered a few workarounds!

One of the main things that was taken away with this new profile upgrade from facebook was the small infobox below the profile picture on the left-hand side of the page that allowed users to customize some text (or even add a website link) to help easily direct users to get more information or to promote another site or interest.

One way to workaround this if you have a fan page setup is to add that fan page as your employer in the education and work section when you go to edit your profile. That way, when someone visits your site, the first line under your name will be a link to your fan page. You can leave your job title blank to have that first line read “Works at (fan page title)” or you can add whatever text you want as your title and it will read “(whatever you text you add) at (fan page title)” – visit my personal facebook profile (or click here) to see what I mean.

Overall though, I think the changes are good as it is designed to more quickly allow your visitors to identify who you are and what you do. Only time will tell however. In the meantime, take advantage of this nifty work around to be able to let your facebook profile page visitors know about your fan page on the first line of the page. That site (for now) still has that infobox on the leftside under your fan page profile so you can promote whatever sites or info you need to there.
